Bethesda’s Fallout 76 has experienced one heck of a ride over the past five years, and the studio doesn’t look to stop here as it announces map expansion and new content for 2024.
In a blog post published this week, Bethesda shared some of the future plans for Fallout 76, which has now reached over 17 million players five years after launching. Earlier this month, the developers released the first half of the Atlantic City update, Boardwalk Paradise, adding a new Expedition to the game.
Now, Art Director Jonathan Rush described the title’s second part of the update, Atlantic City – America’s Playground, which is set to land next Spring. It will introduce an additional mission where players will encounter the legendary Jersey Devil along with multiple story-driven quests, new explorable areas, and various rewards.
Bethesda has also shared the highly anticipated in-game map expansion plans, which include the neighboring forested region called Shenandoah.
This uncharted, once-tranquil expanse in the heart of Virginia will bring a new questline, factions, and rewards.
This update is expected to launch later in 2024, probably in the latter half of the year. Moreover, the next year will also see Bethesda Game Studios focusing more on Seasonal Events, as the developer promises to run them more often and offer new rewards with each event. Concluding, Bethesda has revealed intentions to release several new features and improvements that enhance the Fallout 76 experience.
For Fallout fans, 2024 is going to be an exciting year since it will mark the release of the Fallout TV show, which is being handled by Westworld creators Jonathan Nolan and Lisa Joy through their production studio, Kilter Films. The Fallout TV series is set to premiere on April 12, 2024 on Amazon Prime Video. The first season will consist of eight episodes.
