Gray Zone Warfare, the tactical first-person shooter PC game currently ranked 7th on Steam’s global wishlist, will launch tomorrow in early access. The news was shared this afternoon by Czech developer MADFINGER Games, formerly known for hit mobile releases like Shadowgun and Dead Trigger.
Creative director Marek Rabas said in a statement:
The development of Gray Zone Warfare represents the best period in MADFINGER Games history, as we have a clear vision of how to create a modern, realism-based tactical military action. I am thrilled that we managed to create a unique, meticulously crafted game and are ready to deliver it into the hands of players. At the same time, we are excited about the reactions of Creators who had the exclusive opportunity to play the game preview.
Early access pricing for Gray Zone Warfare starts at $34.99 for the Standard Edition, which features standard edition equipment, a basic 10×25 locker, a 2×2 secure lockbox, and 10K in-game dollars. The 42 square kilometers open world can accommodate up to 48 players and 1000 AI units. Modes include PvEvP or just PvE, either solo or with a team of up to four players. At the early access launch of Gray Zone Warfare, players will already find over 150 tasks to complete across the island.
The early access phase may span ‘several years’, according to MADFINGER Games, during which the developers will release regular updates with new content, expanded worldbuilding, new weapons and gear, new quests and environmental storytelling, not to mention optimization and bug fixes. Gray Zone Warfare is powered by Unreal Engine 5 and will support NVIDIA DLSS 3 as well as hardware ray-traced Lumen global illumination.
