PS Plus Extra/Premium Adds Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, NFS Unbound, Tales Titles in February

Sony has announced the latest lineup of games coming to their PS Plus Extra and Premium tiers this February. Subscribers can look forward to Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, Need for Speed Unbound, four different entries in Bandai Namco’s Tales series, including the most recent Tales of Arise, and more. Premium subscribers have some things to look forward to as well, including newly-enhanced releases of Resistance: Retribution and Jet Moto 2.

Here are your PS Plus Extra headliners for February…

Assassin’s Creed Valhalla (PS4, PS5)

From Wccftech’s review – “Assassin’s Creed Valhalla is a definite step up for the series, thanks to the many tweaks made to the RPG mechanics that powered the previous two entries in the series, better storytelling, great atmosphere, and meaningful side-content. Even with the tweaks, however, Assassin’s Creed Valhalla is still an Assassin’s Creed game at heart, so those who are not into the Ubisoft open-world game design will hardly change their opinion with the game. Everyone else will probably love every second of Eivor’s adventure, especially if they are into Vikings and ancient Norse culture.”

Tales of Arise (PS4, PS5)

From Wccftech’s review – “With its engaging story, dark atmosphere, charming characters, and excellent combat, Tales of Arise provides an experience that feels both new and familiar at the same time, making for a game that both long-time fans and newcomers will enjoy. While the excessive linearity and the removal of multiplayer will disappoint some, the pros far outweigh the cons, making Tales of Arise one of the best entries in the series to date.”

Need for Speed Unbound (PS5)

From Wccftech’s review – “Need for Speed Unbound is the franchise’s best entry in a decade, although the competition for that title wasn’t particularly stiff. The game offers polished tech, good (if slightly dated) open-world design, and a varied array of events and challenges, but still lags behind the current open-world racer pack leaders. The fantasy of becoming an underground racing champ is also hampered by a restrictive, ill-considered progression system. Nostalgic fans will find plenty to like here, and more general players might want to consider a test drive once the game is marked down, but ‘need’ may be a strong word to attach to Criterion’s latest.”
