During the latest Xbox Developer Direct the upcoming Visions of Mana made a surprise appearance, ultimately taking up several minutes of the showcase and hinting maybe Microsoft and Square Enix were working closely to promote the game. Then, eagle-eyed fans noticed a number of references to Visions of Mana being a Day 1 Game Pass release on the Xbox store and website, which made a certain amount of sense given the Xbox Direct appearance. Ah, but don’t get too excited just yet Game Pass subscribers.
Eurogamer reached out to Microsoft about the status of Visions of Mana, and, apparently, the title being listed as a Game Pass Day 1 release was just a mistake. In fact, there are currently no plans for the RPG to come to Game Pass…
“We’re aware that Xbox.com included language that indicated Visions of Mana was coming to Xbox Game Pass and can confirm this was an error. While we are always updating the library and looking for new ways to provide members with value and choice, we do not have plans to bring Visions of Mana to Game Pass at this time.”
Seems like an odd mistake to make (the Visions of Mana Game Pass references showed up multiple times). Perhaps Square Enix’s title was originally slated for Game Pass, but plans changed. The game does seem to be attracting more interest than your average entry in the Mana series, so maybe Square Enix decided it had more potential than they originally thought.

Visions of Mana is coming to PC, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, and PS5 sometime in spring or summer of this year.
